In search of the ‘bommsittit’

You know those lyrics that you can’t quite make out and so you do your best with a phonetic rendition? A classic is the six year old belting out our national anthem and translating the less comprehensible ‘long to reign over us‘ as ‘the long train ran over us‘. An urban myth, possibly; but my sister’s stab at ‘Guantanamera‘, rendered as ‘one ton o’ metal‘, is definitely true. I was there and took merciless older sister advantage of her ignorance. Another mysterious distortion emerged recently in the conversation of two radio presenters. Gross Expectations Eloise hoisted open the flimsy door and paused on the threshold, screwing up her nose and holding onto the urge to vomit. This could just possibly be the daftest idea I ever had. I’ve opened a page where I will list indie publications as I hear of them. Mostly, I suspect, written by blog- and twitter-mates, but of course, the floodgates may be creaking on their hinges as I prepare this post. I need a change of scenery

I got widgets, I got columns, I know where my stuff is; but I need a change, and every time I pitch in with a preview, I get cold feet and stay where I am. Last week, I found a WordPress appearance that I liked, hit preview, and went off it because it wasn’t yellow enough. ‘Moonrise’

  Apparently it’s Blue Monday today – lousy weather, new year resolutions unresolved, and xmas chocolates out of the box and onto the bum. Not here though.
